My Bucket List 2012-2013

1.  Delirium by Lauren Oliver

This reminds me of a book I really like, called The Pretties.  It's different, but has a love story twist to it.  It takes place in an alternate universe, and I've always loved sci-fi things.  Also, it might be a little creepy and I love suspense.  Mrs. Pickett reads a lot of books that I think I would like, and she recommended this one to me.

2. Reason to Breathe by Rebecca Donovan

I've been told by many people that this is a great book.  I haven't read any summarys on it because I want it to be a complete surprise.  I like stories that take place in a highschool setting, but this is different because it also has a very serious take on it.  I could see where you would look at the story from a lot of different perspectives.

3.  Secret Life of Raisin Rodriguez by Judy Goldschmidt

I read this when I was younger, and I felt like I couldn't understand it like I should've. So, I'm going to comprehend it better now.  I think I will be able to relate to this book because Raisin is going through highschool, and she's over-coming typical teenage obsticals that every girl has to go through.

4. The Life of Pi by Yann Martel

My boyfriend read this book when we started dating, and he was glued to it.  So I thought since we have the same interests, I would like it also.  It's not like most of the books I read, but I'm trying to make my taste a little more broad. I also really love tigers, and this story is all about one.

5. The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks

I LOVE Nicholas Sparks and love stories.  I haven't seen the movie, and I would like to read the book before I watch it.  I really like the way Nicholas Sparks writes because of all the detail and emphasis he puts on the two characters that are in love.

6. Nights In Rodanthe by Nicholas Sparks

I have been told this book is a great combination of everything.  My mom recommended this to me a long time ago.  Usually, my mom and I don't have the same taste in anything... Especially books, but I'm willing to give this one a try because it's written by one of my favorite authors.

7. Going Bovine by Libba Bray

I'm really not used to reading these kind of books.  This is another book that my boyfriend recommended to me.  I'm up for anything, because like I said, I'm trying to broaden my taste.  I also really like Libba Bray's writing.  She's very descriptive and keeps me interested.

8. Child Called It by Dave Delzer

I'm still not for sure if I want to read this book or not.  A lot of people have told me it is very sad, and I don't handle sad things about kids very well.  I think it will make me more aware of things that are actually happening, and it will be very touching.

9. Message in a Bottle by Nicholas Sparks

This is the book that I just started reading, and I CAN'T put it down.  It has kept me so interested.  It's a story about a divorced woman that finds a washed up bottle.  She has no idea who they are, where they're from, or any idea of what they look like.  I love a good mystery and I can't wait to see what all this book has in store.

10. The Host by Stephanie Meyer

My biology teacher, Mrs. Hogan, recommended this to me and said it's a lot like the taste I have.  Stephanie Meyer wrote the Twilight saga (which I LOVED) and I'm curious to see if she can stray away from the whole vampire-type story line. I am anxious to see what all it's about, and it will probably be the next book I read.
