Is it a moral obligation to practice philanthropy?

            In the text, it claims that Bill Gates started an organization which donates money to sick kids in underprivileged countries. The piece of text says he donated 30 billion dollars to this organization. I believe if he donated that much money, there would be a LOT more kids taken care of, and not as many sick as there still are. It also states in this story that they're continuously donating money, from people all over. I'm pretty sure if they were giving ALL of that money to the issue, there wouldn't be any more sick children in other countries.  They give the money to the countries that have the children that need that money to go towards research and instruments on the disease. I personally believe the countries are taking that money and using it for their own benefit. In conclusion, money is the root of all evil, and I think these big-Whigs are donating all of this just to make themselves look better.
